Motivation has a profound effect on employees' productivity and performance. An organization improves its likelihood of success by maintaining a motivated work force. As a leader within your organization, you share in the responsibility of motivating your employees. You also want to be able to lead the individuals on your team effectively by conducting ongoing performance appraisals; delivering helpful and instructive feedback, training, and coaching; and designing and implementing performance standards. You want to develop talent within your team by employing effective performance-management strategies on the job. This course will help you cultivate the skills necessary to motivate your employees and give you essential performance-management skills. This course is designed for managers, supervisors, human resource personnel, and team leaders who are seeking to inspire employees and optimize their performance. In this course, you will identify strategies for motivating employees and developing them through the application of basic performance-management techniques. You will: • Commit to employee motivation. • Motivate employees. • Develop self-motivated employees. • Establish a foundation for performance management. • Optimize employee performance using performance-management strategies. • Create employee performance and development plans. This course requires that you have Microsoft Office installed on a Windows PC. The course setup instructions provided in the first module of the course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.

  • Committing to Employee Motivation
    • As a manager, one of your responsibilities is to establish and maintain a high-functioning, high-performing team. To accomplish this, you'll need to understand the significant impact of motivation on your employees’ work performance and make an effort to energize them. In this lesson, you will commit to motivate your employees.
  • Motivating Employees
    • You now understand the importance of employee motivation and you've acquired methods for assessing your employees' motivation levels. Now it's time to adopt strategies that can dramatically increase your ability to motivate your employees. In this lesson, you will motivate employees.
  • Developing Self-Motivation in Employees
    • You've used a variety of skills and tools to motivate your employees. Next, you will want to help employees motivate themselves to higher performance and commitment. In this lesson, you will develop self-motivation in employees.
  • Establishing a Foundation for Performance Management
    • You've built an array of strategies to motivate your employees to deliver higher performance. Now you want to implement performance management strategies to take employees' performance to the next level. In this lesson, you will establish a foundation for performance management.
  • Optimizing Employee Performance
    • You've established a solid foundation for performance management by eliciting engagement, integrating new employees into your team and company, and developing talent. Now it's time to identify methods and strategies that will help you make the most effective use of your employees' talents. In this lesson, you will optimize employee performance.
  • Creating Performance and Development Plans
    • You've optimized employee performance by using interviews to assess talent, establishing employee performance goals, and discussing performance appraisals. Now it's time to build strategies to help employees grow and improve their performance. In this lesson, you will create performance and development plans.
  • Completing the Course
    • You'll wrap things up and then validate what you've learned in this course by taking an assessment.
