The Cloud Foundations & AWS Basics course is designed to provide learners with a strong foundation in cloud computing concepts and core AWS fundamentals. This course introduces the essential principles of cloud computing, cloud deployment models, AWS infrastructure, and foundational AWS services required to begin a cloud journey confidently. The course covers key concepts such as cloud computing models, on-premises vs cloud environments, cloud service models including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, and deployment models such as Public, Private, Hybrid, and Multi-Cloud. Learners will also explore AWS Cloud fundamentals, AWS Global Infrastructure, Region selection strategies, AWS account setup, AWS Console navigation, and AWS support plans. This course is structured into two modules, each containing lessons and video lectures. Learners will engage with approximately 4–6 hours of video content, combining conceptual understanding with practical cloud learning insights. Each module includes quizzes to reinforce learning and validate understanding of key concepts. Course Modules: Module 1: Cloud Fundamentals Module 2: AWS Fundamentals By the end of this course, a learner will be able to: - Understand core cloud computing concepts and benefits - Differentiate between cloud service models such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS - Compare Public, Private, Hybrid, and Multi-Cloud deployment models - Understand the differences between on-premises and cloud environments - Explain AWS Cloud fundamentals and AWS Global Infrastructure concepts - Choose AWS Regions based on latency, pricing, compliance, and availability requirements - Set up and navigate an AWS account and AWS Management Console - Understand AWS support plans and foundational operational best practices - Gain practical exposure to cloud learning environments such as Hands-on Labs and Sandbox environments This course is ideal for individuals beginning their cloud computing journey and looking to build a strong understanding of cloud fundamentals and AWS basics. It provides the foundational knowledge required for cloud engineering, cloud operations, and AWS certification preparation.

  • Cloud Fundamentals
    • Welcome to theCloud Fundamentals Module, you’ll explore the core concepts of cloud computing that form the foundation of modern IT and AWS environments. We’ll start by understanding What is Cloud Computing? and What are Cloud Computing Models are, giving you clarity on how cloud services are structured and delivered. Next, you’ll compare On-premises vs Cloud Computing to understand the shift from traditional infrastructure to cloud-based solutions. You’ll then be introduced to What is AWS Cloud? and the Benefits of the AWS Cloud, helping you recognize why organizations are adopting AWS at scale. As the week progresses, you’ll dive deeper into Cloud Service Models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and Deployment Models (Public, Private, Hybrid, Multi-Cloud), enabling you to understand how different cloud architectures are designed to meet diverse business and technical requirements. By the end of this week, you’ll have a solid understanding of cloud fundamentals and be well-prepared to continue your journey into AWS services and hands-on learning in the upcoming modules.

    • Welcome to the AWS Fundamentals Module. You’ll explore the foundational elements of the AWS ecosystem and how to effectively get started with the platform. We’ll begin with an Introduction to AWS Cloud, followed by a deep dive into AWS Global Infrastructure, helping you understand Regions, Availability Zones, and how AWS delivers high availability and scalability. Next, you’ll learn how to choose an AWS Region based on factors such as latency, cost, and compliance requirements. This will help you make informed architectural decisions when deploying resources in AWS. As we move forward, you’ll be introduced to Whizlabs Hands-on Labs and the Sandbox Environment, providing a safe and guided space to practice AWS concepts in real time. You’ll also walk through the process of setting up a free-tier AWS account and Getting Familiar with the AWS Console, enabling you to navigate and manage AWS services with confidence. We’ll wrap up the week with AWS Support Plans: Comparison, giving you clarity on the different support tiers and how to select the right option based on your operational needs. By the end of this week, you’ll be equipped with practical knowledge to access, navigate, and begin working within the AWS environment effectively.
