The AWS Core Services (Compute, Storage & Networking) course provides foundational knowledge of core AWS infrastructure services used to build scalable and modern cloud applications. Learners will explore AWS storage services such as Amazon S3, S3 Glacier, EBS, EFS, EC2 Instance Store, and AWS Backup, along with compute services including Amazon EC2, Auto Scaling, and Elastic Load Balancing. The course also covers serverless and container technologies including AWS Lambda, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Amazon ECS, and Amazon EKS to help learners understand modern application deployment approaches on AWS. This course is structured into three modules with approximately 6–8 hours of video content and quizzes to reinforce learning. Course Modules: Module 1: AWS Storage Services Module 2: AWS Compute Services Module 3: AWS Serverless & Containers By the end of this course, learners will be able to: Understand core AWS storage, compute, serverless, and container services Configure scalable and highly available AWS infrastructures Understand Auto Scaling, Load Balancing, backup, and storage optimization concepts Explore serverless application deployment using AWS Lambda Understand container orchestration using Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS Identify appropriate AWS services for different infrastructure and application requirements This course is ideal for learners preparing for AWS cloud engineering, cloud operations, solution architecture, and AWS certification fundamentals.

Syllabus

  • AWS Storage Services
    • Welcome to the AWS Storage Services module. You’ll focus on AWS storage services for managing data in the cloud. We’ll begin with Amazon S3, including its features, versioning, demo, and storage classes, along with S3 Glacier for cost-effective archival. Next, you’ll explore Amazon EBS and EBS Snapshots for block storage and backups, followed by Amazon EFS with a hands-on session for shared file storage. You’ll also learn about EC2 Instance Store for temporary storage and AWS Backup for centralized data protection. By the end of this week, you’ll understand how to select and manage AWS storage services based on performance and cost needs.
  • AWS Compute Services
    • Welcome to the AWS Compute Services module, you’ll focus on AWS compute services that power scalable applications. We’ll begin with Amazon EC2 Fundamentals, including Instance Types and Purchasing Options, Savings Plans, and Tenancy, helping you select the right compute resources based on workload needs.Next, you’ll reinforce your understanding with an Amazon EC2 Demo, followed by Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) and Cross-Zone Load Balancing to distribute traffic efficiently across instances. As the week progresses, you’ll explore Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling, including an overview and hands-on session, enabling automatic scaling to maintain performance and availability.By the end of this week, you’ll be able to provision, balance, and scale compute resources effectively in AWS.
  • AWS Serverless & Containers
    • Welcome to the AWS Serverless & Containers module, you’ll focus on modern application deployment using serverless and container-based services in AWS. We’ll begin with AWS Lambda, including a demo, to understand event-driven, serverless computing without managing infrastructure.Next, you’ll explore AWS Elastic Beanstalk (with demo), enabling you to deploy and manage applications without worrying about underlying infrastructure. As the week progresses, you’ll dive into container services with Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS, helping you understand how to run and orchestrate containerized applications at scale. You’ll also revisit scaling and availability concepts with Cross-Zone Load Balancing and Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling (overview and hands-on), ensuring your applications remain resilient and scalable.By the end of this week, you’ll understand how to deploy, scale, and manage applications using serverless and container-based approaches on AWS.
