Build practical Unity game development skills by creating a complete 2D Flappy Chopper game from start to finish. In this project-based course, you will learn how to design engaging 2D environments, prepare and organize sprites, implement responsive player movement, apply Unity physics, and develop gameplay mechanics that bring your project to life. As you progress, you will build obstacle spawning systems, create scoring logic, design a functional user interface, and integrate game-over states into a polished final game. The course is designed for beginners starting with Unity as well as intermediate learners looking to strengthen their 2D game development and Unity scripting skills through hands-on practice. Each module builds on the previous one, guiding you from environment setup and camera tracking to physics, animation, gameplay logic, and final game integration. What makes this course unique is its focus on building a complete, playable game rather than learning concepts in isolation. Using a Flappy Bird-inspired helicopter project, you will apply every concept directly within a real development workflow, gaining practical experience in designing, testing, debugging, and refining your game. By the end of the course, you will have the confidence to build, polish, and complete a fully functional 2D Unity game while strengthening your understanding of Unity's game development process.

Syllabus

  • Setting the Stage for Flappy Chopper
    • This module introduces learners to the Flappy Chopper project by focusing on sprite preparation, environment design, and the fundamentals of player control. Students will explore Unity basics while building the game world and making the chopper come to life through movement and camera setup.
  • Physics, Animation, and Gameplay Logic
    • This module dives deeper into Unity’s physics, animations, and obstacle logic. Learners will refine chopper interactions with the environment, define gameplay challenges, and incorporate essential mechanics such as death conditions and spawning obstacles to enhance difficulty and realism.
  • Scoring, UI, and Final Game Build
    • This final module focuses on user interaction and game completion. Learners will build the scoring system, design the GUI, define game-over states, and integrate all elements into a polished final version of Flappy Chopper.
