You’ll learn how Azure Load Balancer distributes traffic across workloads and how Network Security Groups and Application Security Groups help control network access. The course then moves into Azure network and cloud security services, including Azure Firewall, Azure Key Vault, Azure DDoS Protection, Azure Bastion, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Sentinel. Through guided demonstrations, you’ll gain practical insight into configuring network security controls and protecting Azure workloads. By combining conceptual lessons, hands-on demonstrations, and real-world scenarios, this course helps you understand how to build secure, resilient, and connected Azure infrastructure environments. Azure Networking Fundamentals
- In this section, you'll build a strong foundation in Azure networking and connectivity services, learning how Azure resources communicate securely across cloud and hybrid environments. You'll begin by exploring core Azure networking services and gain an understanding of how virtual networks provide connectivity and isolation for Azure workloads. As you progress, you'll explore Azure DNS, ExpressRoute, NAT Gateway, and VPN Gateway to understand different approaches for name resolution, outbound connectivity, private connectivity, and secure hybrid networking. Through a guided demonstration, you'll also gain practical experience configuring and working with Azure Virtual Network and VPN Gateway. By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of Azure networking and connectivity services, enabling you to design secure, reliable, and scalable network environments for Azure workloads and hybrid architectures.
Azure Load Balancing & Network Security Fundamentals
- In this section, you'll build a strong foundation in Azure load balancing and network security, learning how to distribute application traffic and protect Azure resources. You'll begin by exploring Azure Load Balancer and its role in improving application availability, scalability, and reliability by distributing network traffic across backend resources. As you progress, you'll gain hands-on experience configuring Azure Load Balancer by creating a virtual network and NAT Gateway, deploying backend pools, connecting virtual machines and IIS, and testing load-balancing functionality. The section further introduces Azure network security services, including Network Security Groups (NSGs) and Application Security Groups (ASGs). Through guided demonstrations, you'll learn how these security controls help regulate network traffic and organize security rules for Azure resources. By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of Azure load balancing and network security fundamentals, enabling you to distribute traffic efficiently and implement effective security controls for Azure workloads.
Azure Network and Cloud Security Services
- In this section, you'll build a strong foundation in Azure network and cloud security services, learning how to protect network resources, secure sensitive information, and detect and respond to security threats. You'll begin by exploring Azure Firewall and gain hands-on experience creating a virtual network and virtual machine, configuring routes and firewall rules, and testing traffic protection. As you progress, you'll explore Azure Key Vault and learn how it securely stores and manages secrets, keys, and certificates. Through guided demonstrations, you'll gain practical experience working with Key Vault and understand how it supports secure access to sensitive resources. The section further introduces Azure DDoS Protection and Azure Bastion, helping you understand how to protect applications from network attacks and securely connect to virtual machines without exposing them directly to the public internet. You'll also explore Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel to understand cloud security posture management, threat detection, monitoring, and security response. By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of Azure security and threat protection services, enabling you to secure networks, protect sensitive data, detect threats, and strengthen the overall security posture of Azure environments.
