Spanish 8 focuses on building your understanding and mastery of the subjunctive mood in its present tense form. Throughout this comprehensive lesson, you will explore both regular and irregular verb conjugations within the subjunctive framework and learn the grammatical rules for constructing properly formed subjunctive sentences (such as "I wish you could attend the class today," "We hope you will enjoy a wonderful trip," and other similar expressions). You will develop the ability to confidently select between indicative and subjunctive moods to accurately convey your intended meaning. Upon completing this course, you will have strong competence in recognizing subjunctive forms, applying appropriate conjugations, and using the subjunctive mood correctly to express wishes, doubts, impersonal expressions, and many other nuanced ideas.
Required Prerequisites: Successful completion of Spanish 1 through Spanish 7 courses or equivalent language proficiency.
Course Delivery Format: This course is conducted entirely through Zoom video conferencing.
Important Information About Course Materials: When selecting your course materials, you must choose either a printed textbook (which requires advance pickup) or a PDF format book if you have not previously taken Spanish 7. If you select the PDF option, you will need either the ability to print the materials yourself or access to a second device to view the book during class.

You will need a reliable internet connection and a laptop or computer device equipped with both a camera and a microphone for full participation. One day before class begins, you will receive your electronic course materials, and the instructor will provide you with the Zoom meeting link. Please plan to log in and join the meeting 5 to 10 minutes early so that you are completely ready when the session starts.
