This Spanish language course covers essential grammar topics, including weather vocabulary and activities associated with different weather conditions, demonstrative adjectives for describing specific objects like tables, indirect object pronouns that allow you to construct complex sentences about communication and feelings, and the verbs and expressions like gustar that help you articulate personal preferences, experiences of pain or discomfort, and concepts of importance.
Upon completion of Spanish 4, you will be able to form grammatically correct sentences using indirect object pronouns in contexts such as gift-giving and message-sending, use the present perfect tense to discuss past experiences and completed actions, apply possessive pronouns to show ownership and relationships, and employ comparative adjectives to make meaningful contrasts between objects and ideas.
Course Materials and Technical Requirements:
- Select either a printed book with an audio file for in-class pickup or a PDF format with digital audio files. PDF format is recommended if you did not take Spanish 3, though having the ability to print your own copy or use a second device to view materials during class is helpful.
- You will receive your electronic materials the day before class begins, with your instructor sending the online meeting link at that time.
- Plan to log in and join the virtual meeting 5 to 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure you are ready when the class begins. If you encounter any issues with your meeting link, visit Zoom.us, select "Join a Meeting," and enter the meeting ID that your instructor will provide via email.
- A stable internet connection and a laptop or device equipped with both a camera and microphone are required for successful participation.
