AutoCAD remains one of the most sought-after courses in our comprehensive series. A green flag displayed beside a date indicates that a session has reached minimum enrollment levels and is confirmed to run. However, dates for this popular course often fill several weeks in advance. Even if a date displays a green flag, you may not be able to enroll if that particular session has reached capacity. To ensure your enrollment, it is advisable to register for this class at least three to four weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.
This three-day AutoCAD Level 1: Essentials course is designed specifically for those using AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT with a Windows operating system. This course is not designed for the AutoCAD for Mac software. The AutoCAD Level 1: Essentials course enables students to create a basic two-dimensional (2D) drawing within the AutoCAD software environment.
This course covers the essential core topics necessary for working effectively with the AutoCAD software. The teaching strategy begins with fundamental tools that allow you to create and edit simple drawings, then progressively develops your skills with additional tools introduced throughout the training. While not every command or option is covered, the course emphasizes the most essential tools and concepts, including understanding the AutoCAD workspace and user interface, using basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools, organizing drawing objects using layers, inserting reusable symbols through blocks, preparing a layout for plotting, and adding text, hatching, and dimensions to your drawings.
Prerequisites:
A solid working knowledge of basic design or drafting procedures and terminology is required. A working knowledge of the Windows operating system is also necessary. If you lack a background in drafting, architecture, or prior experience with a computer-aided design (CAD) package, you should consider enrolling in the five-day version of this course instead.
