Free courses that cover what every backend job assumes: a server-side language, a database, version control, a terminal and containers. You write and run real code on every lesson, and each course ends with a free certificate.
Overview
Syllabus
- Learn Python — Variables, control flow, functions, data structures, files and errors, then classes and modules. The server-side language for this path; Go is the alternative if you prefer a compiled, typed one.
- Learn SQL — SELECT, WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY, subqueries, indexes and schema design against live tables. The half of backend work that happens in the database.
- Learn Linux and the Command Line — Files, permissions, processes, pipes and bash basics. Backend code runs on Linux servers, and debugging it means being at home in a terminal.
- Learn Git & Version Control — Commits, branches, merging, conflicts, remotes and undoing mistakes. Every backend team ships through Git; every code review happens in it.
- Learn Docker & Containers — Images, Dockerfiles, volumes and networking. How a backend service is packaged so it runs the same on your laptop, in CI and in production.
