just finished catching this session, and honestly, it’s one of the most engaging security presentations I've watched in a while. Instead of the usual dry PowerPoint slides about firewalls, it actually looks at how real people interact with security and privacy.The Good Stuff:The Magic Analogy: Bringing in Penn & Teller wasn't just a gimmick. They showed how magic tricks rely on misdirection, which is exactly how phishing and social engineering work in the real world. Seeing that connection live made the psychology of hacking click for me.Fixing Broken Privacy Design: Dr. Lorrie Cranor’s breakdown of privacy policies and cookie banners was spot on. She basically calls out how terrible user interfaces trick people into giving up their data because they're just tired of clicking boxes.Fun Format: The late-night talk show setup kept things moving fast. It didn't feel like a lecture at all.The Not-So-Good:Because they were trying to balance the comedy, the magic, and the science, a few of Dr. Cranor’s points on data tracking felt a bit rushed. I wished they had given her a few more minutes to dive into her actual research.Bottom Line:If you work in security awareness, UI/UX design, or compliance, this is definitely worth your time. It’s a great reminder that we need to build security systems that work with human nature, rather than blaming users when things go wrong.
