Cyber Security

Wonderful course for them who wants to learn about cyber security as this explains us about cyber crimes and how to deal with it although Cyber-crime has been reported as one of the top four economic crimes perceived by all organizations. [1] According to an ASSOCHAM report the number of cyber-crimes all over the world will reach to a higher level to earn money in an illegal way. The statistics from the surveys shows how the Cyber-crime has been increasing at an alarming rate all over the world. What is cybercrime? Webopedia defines Cybercrime as "any criminal act dealing with computers and networks (called hacking)”. [2] Cybercrime is a range of illegal digital activities targeted at organizations in order to cause harm. [3] The simplest possible definition given by Norton Company is “Cybercrime is simply a crime that has some kind of computer or cyber aspect to it”. [4] According to Norton, for every 3 seconds someone’s identity is stolen as a result of cybercrime. Cyber-crimes do not consider any boundaries or territorial barriers. Making the cyber world safer is the major concern to all the stakeholders. In this regard, every country will have its own Cyber law or Internet law to control the cybercrimes in their countries.

1. I have been attending MOOCs since 2013 on different websites like coursera, edx, udemy etc and i have done courses of cyber security and cyber forensic from worlds well know universities still i am very much impressed with this course and gives 5 stars because of following reasons:-
(a) This course is well organised in 15 weeks with every important topic related to cyber
security and cyber forensic, all have been covered.
(b) Unlike other universities MOOCs, PPTs of every topic, E Text which is very very helpful and
week glossary, no one provides such useful content at free of cost. Amazing.
(c) Specialty of this course is that in cyber law, Indian IT Act 2000 is
explained and cyber laws and crimes applicable to Indian citizens are
explained in detail.
(d) In the end live interview conducted with live examples in India which
we cannot even imagine are discussed, which is an another achievement for
knowledge enhancement.

Hi,this is Vinod. Being Special Public Prosecutor (Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences Act) from Samastipur (BIHAR).

I feel this Course helped me in conducting (1)Inquiry (stage before framing of Charge) and

(2)Trial(stage after framing of Charge and before

Judgment in Criminal cases.

In many sexual offences cases where there was alligation by underaged girls (child below 18 years of age irrespective of its gender) of commition of offenceof Voyeurism I have successfully conducted the Governments Prosecution and culprits (accusedes) were awarded Convictions.

Some suggestions I would give that there should be some focuses on EXHIBIT MARKING OF CYBER EVIDENCE DURING TRIAL UNDER LAW OF EVIDENCE.

I came to know many more things about the authentication method , biometrics , internet of things ,etc., and the possible attacks on them and the recovery options and the best form of securities in them using this course. These seemed very interesting topics to me. I have learnt about the classifications of cyber attacks and the various types of attacks in today's life and came to know that we all have experienced certain types of these attacks and even some of us are most prone to these attacks. I am fortunate to come across this course, Cyber Security, in Swayam at a time when I was looking for such course. I compared some of similar courses elsewhere but after going through the introductory video of Dr.Padmavathi garu, I decided I must join this course in Swayam.
We need not say the importance of Cyber Security as we are seeing how gullible people and also organisations are falling prey to the Hackers with innovative methods each day. This course is useful to students, teachers and representatives/employees of organisations. This course is certainly a value-addition.
After attending three week lessons, I enjoyed and understood the topics presented by our Guru Dr. Padmavathi garu as they are made easily understandable.
i) In case of study material, I feel there is slight redundancy because same topic is available at three places ie in PPT, in Video Lessons and in Text. I feel, primarily Video Lessons are required but in case due to time or other constraints and if additional points are required, Text will support. Hence, PPT can be removed.
ii) Also there are very few occasions (ignorable), where the content in PPT is not presented correctly. However I must appreciate the enormous hard work the presenters put behind the presentation of the content.
iii) I also request to attach Lab related topics and assignments, so that the theory can be put into practice . For this subject some Universities included Encryption related topics in Lab.
iv) One more request is that the internal assignment (Quiz) requires compulsory manual review, as in one occasion the choices are repeated exactly again in an MCQ, making our choice difficult

But for these, I am sure that the learners get benefitted with this course.
