This lecture is the second part of a mini-course on lattice gauge theories, presented by Malin Palö Forsström at the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics. Explore higher dimensional analogs of famous statistical mechanics models like the Ising model, XY model, and clock model. Understand how lattice gauge theories serve as discretizations of the Yang-Mills model, which is fundamental to the standard model in physics. Learn about the properties of these theories and compare their behavior to more familiar models like the Ising model. The presentation runs for 1 hour and 23 minutes and builds upon concepts introduced in the first part of the series.
