Total: 24 full lectures (~24 hours). The course walks through the entire arc of ancient Greece:
The Greek Dark Ages, Rise of the polis (city-state), Sparta vs. Athens, The Persian Wars, Athenian democracy, The Peloponnesian War, Decline of the Greek city-states politics (democracy, citizenship), Philosophy and human nature. Western intellectual traditions, why this course is popular, a complete Ivy League course, not just clips, clear storytelling + deep historical analysis, an uses primary sources like Herodotus and Thucydides. Give you lecture-by-lecture notes, summarize the whole course in a few pages, or recommend similar Yale courses (Roman history, Middle Ages, etc.)
