This talk encourages people to embrace authenticity instead of hinding parts of yourself. It also encourages people to reject harmful stereotypes, value diversity and individuality. Mercy Kokushubira explains the pressure felt by black people to change and fit expectations created by society. The talk explains how black people feel pressure to change things about themselves such as they way they talk, their hair, skin colour, etc. It also shows that stereotypes can affect identity, making people feel like hiding parts of themselves. This powerful talk is not only aiming to inspire black people, it will inspire people of my different cultures and races.
