Pharmaceutics is a discipline focused on pharmaceutical preparations, encompassing the study of their fundamental theories, formulation design, preparation processes, quality control, and rational application. Key areas of study include the basic theory of preparations, unit operations in preparation, fundamental dosage forms along with their preparation and quality standards, and drug delivery systems. It is a compulsory course for students majoring in pharmaceutical preparations.

This course is built upon the foundation of being among the first national key disciplines in pharmaceutics (1988). It has been recognized as a national excellent course (2004), and its teaching team was among the first to be designated as a national teaching team (2007). The pharmaceutics major was acknowledged as a national first-class characteristic major (2009), and the course itself was selected as a national bilingual teaching demonstration course (2010), a national excellent resource sharing course (2014), and a national first-class professional construction site (2020). Most recently, it was chosen as a national first-class offline course (2023). The course textbooks, including "Pharmaceutics," "Pharmaceutics (English version)," and "Pharmaceutics Experiment," were initially edited by the team and have been passed down as national planning textbooks, adopted by over 100 colleges and universities nationwide. The English version of the pharmaceutics textbook is the first of its kind in China. The course is supported by a national teaching demonstration center and a GMP drug production training center, ensuring high-quality teaching operations.

The course boasts a robust faculty, with team members including recipients of special government allowances from the State Council, young and middle-aged academic leaders of national key disciplines, provincial outstanding teachers, provincial famous teachers, provincial distinguished professors, provincial "Xingliao Talent Program" young top-notch talents, and school teaching teachers.
