Pharmaceutical Dosage Form &Technology MOOC led by Professor Zhang Qi from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), the MOOC "Pharmaceutical Dosage Form & Technology" is co-recorded with Professor Tao Jun (a national-level leading talent) and Professor Wang Weizhi (a national-level young talent). Focusing on the formulation design, preparation technology, and quality control of pharmaceutical dosage forms, it serves as a core course for postgraduates majoring in Pharmaceutical Engineering and Pharmacy, and an elective course for undergraduates and postgraduates in biomedicine-related fields.

With profound experience in teaching and scientific research, the lecturers have carefully curated the course content to help students systematically master relevant theoretical knowledge, cultivate the ability to design and develop pharmaceutical preparations, and enhance their scientific research and innovation literacy.

The MOOC is classified into eight chapters according to the physical forms of selected pharmaceutical dosage forms. Solid dosage forms, Liquid dosage forms, Sterilized preparation and sterile preparation, Semisolid dosage forms, Gaseous dosage forms, Modified-release oral drug delivery, Target drug delivery system. Much more advanced technologies would be introduced and developed in the future.

This MOOC with clear logical context and strong systematicity. Its carefully curated chapters are classified by the physical form of pharmaceutical dosage forms, and systematically introduces the basic principles and cutting-edge developments of pharmaceutics. This MOOC has progressive difficulty and high academic challenge. The modular content progresses from basic to advanced levels which help students to improve their innovation abilities. It featuring flexible and accessible online resources, facilitating students’ independent learning. It is especially useful to pharmaceutical graduate students with or without pharmaceutical background. It is useful to undergraduate also. The carefully selected course contents can help students systematically learn relevant theoretical knowledge, cultivate the ability to design and develop drug formulation, and improve scientific research innovation.
