I. Introduction of Contents
Highways are one of the important national infrastructures. The condition of highways directly affects the safety, comfort, and speed of traffic. After being put into use, attention must be paid to the maintenance and management of highways to keep the road conditions intact and enable the highways to reach the expected service levels.
II. Teaching Objectives of the Course
Through the study of this course, on the basis of enabling students to master the basic knowledge and practical skills of highway maintenance and management, it promotes the improvement of students' abilities to deal with practical problems in highway maintenance and maintenance management.
III. Teaching Contents
The course consists of three modules, namely Introduction, Roadbed Maintenance Technology, and Pavement Maintenance Technology, with a total of 32 knowledge points. Relevant test questions are attached after each knowledge point.
IV. Suggestions on Learning Methods
Combine preview before class with online learning;
Combine offline teaching, discussion, and answering questions;
Combine homework, tests, and examinations;
Combine theory with practice.
V. Suggestions for Solving Highway Maintenance Problems
Firstly, it is suggested to, through learning, understand the types, forms, causes of highway diseases, analyze countermeasures as well as maintenance and repair methods;
Secondly, it is suggested to conduct disease investigations and vehicle investigations on highway sites, conduct mathematical statistics, combine with previous data, find out the causes of diseases, put forward maintenance and repair measures and standards, and conduct maintenance and repair;
Finally, it is suggested to conduct follow-up investigations on the repaired highways, evaluate the maintenance and repair plans, summarize experience so as to improve in dealing with similar diseases next time.
