Guided by the country’s new demands for talents, this course aims to cultivate students’ core abilities to accomplish various workplace tasks in English. The course integrates language, thinking and culture, and incorporates the cultivation of comprehensive abilities such as language proficiency, communication skills, critical thinking, cross-cultural understanding and expression, problem analysis and solving, collaboration, and learning abilities, all of which are essential for using English in workplace situations. Through scientific teaching processes and activity design, this course employs various teaching methods including interactive lecturing, project-based teaching, case study and group discussion to help students familiarize themselves with the use of English in different work scenarios. In the process of understanding workplace situations and completing workplace tasks, such as company comparison, field trip arrangement, feedback categorizing and analyzing, proposing a new guest, expressing opinions in the meeting and giving feedback on the new program proposal, students will gradually develop and enhance their relevant workplace abilities, so as to lay a solid foundation for their rapid integration into an international work environment in the future.
