Course Content:
This course is dedicated to disseminating Ba-Shu Culture in English. By selecting representative cultural elements from diverse aspects such as ancient Shu civilization, transportation and communication, philosophy, literature, science and technology, education, art, cuisine, folklore, and tourism, it provides a comprehensive, systematic, and accessible introduction to the unique charm and splendid achievements of Ba-Shu Culture. The course aims to help learners gain a multi-faceted and profound understanding of the rich heritage and far-reaching significance of both traditional Chinese culture and Ba-Shu Culture.
Course Objectives:
1. To enhance the cultural literacy of Chinese learners, bolster their cultural confidence, ignite their patriotic spirit, and refine their cross-cultural communication skills, cultural dissemination abilities, and innovative capabilities.
2. To offer international learners a glimpse into Ba-Shu Culture, thereby broadening their cultural horizons and fostering a deep understanding of China, Sichuan, as well as the diversity, richness, and inclusivity of Chinese culture.

Notably, the new round of archaeological excavations at the Sanxingdui Archaeological Site, launched in 2019, has propelled the ancient Shu civilization—epitomized by Sanxingdui—to renewed global prominence, garnering worldwide attention and acclaim. Against this backdrop, this course is designed to meet the growing demand for learners to understand Ba-Shu Culture and present it effectively in English, thereby facilitating cultural exchange and global dissemination.
