Context of the organization — internal and external issues, interested parties and their needs and expectations, and the scope of the energy management system
Leadership — top management involvement and support, the energy policy, roles, responsibilities and authorities, and the energy management team
Planning — the analytical heart of ISO 50001:
Risks and opportunities, objectives, energy targets and action plans
The energy review — analysing energy use and consumption, identifying significant energy uses (SEUs) and the variables that affect them, and finding opportunities to improve energy performance
