  • Cybersecurity Foundations
    • Security is embedded in all we do online and is a critical job skill and career field. This foundations course explains security fundamentals including core principles, critical security controls, and cybersecurity best practices. Students will also evaluate specific security techniques used to administer a system that meets industry standards and core controls, assess high-level risks, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors of a sample system, and explain ways to establish and maintain the security of different types of computer systems.
  • Defending and Securing Systems
    • Explore how layered defenses transform cybersecurity. Apply cryptography, firewalls, and monitoring tools to detect intrusions, secure networks, and design mitigation strategies that keep data safe across complex digital environments.
  • Threats, Vulnerabilities, and Incident Response
    • Build the expertise to handle real-world cyber incidents. Identify threats, analyze vulnerabilities, and apply structured response procedures to minimize damage and recover quickly from security breaches.
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance
    • This course provides an overview of governance, risk, and compliance. It focuses on the importance of GRC, identifying GRC concerns, and ways to mitigate those concerns.

    The Introduction to Cybersecurity course was very informative and beginner-friendly. It explains the basic concepts of cybersecurity, including common cyber threats, phishing attacks, malware, and how organizations protect their systems and data. The lessons are clear, well-structured, and easy to understand even for someone new to the field. I especially liked how real-world examples were used to explain security risks and prevention techniques. The course helped me understand the importance of protecting personal and organizational data in today’s digital world. Overall, it is a great starting point for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of cybersecurity and building awareness about online security practices.
