Syllabus

Understanding Cybersecurity

In this module, we will introduce the course structure, learning goals, and the importance of cybersecurity in the modern digital environment. You’ll also be introduced to the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) certification path and how it lays a solid foundation for your cybersecurity knowledge.

Core Security Foundations

In this module, we will cover the foundational principles of cybersecurity, including the CIA triad and authentication methods. You will also learn about privacy protection and the role of GDPR in securing personal data and ensuring compliance.

Risk Management Fundamentals

In this module, we will explore the fundamentals of risk management, focusing on how to identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks. You’ll learn the steps to manage risks effectively, including response strategies and ongoing monitoring.

Security Controls Overview

In this module, we will introduce the concept of security controls and explain how they help safeguard information assets. You will also learn about the key functions of these controls—preventive, detective, and corrective—and their role in protecting systems.

Governance, Ethics & Compliance

In this module, we will discuss the ethical framework guiding cybersecurity professionals. You’ll learn about the ISC2 Code of Ethics and its four canons, which help ensure ethical conduct and maintain trust in cybersecurity practices.

Incident Response & Recovery
