This course introduces learners from any discipline (UG/PG, PhD, rural or urban) to the practical craft of Prompt Engineering. Rather than dwelling only on AI internals, the course takes a hands-on, output-first approach: each week, learner will create usable artefacts - concise summaries and data extractors, visual brand assets (logos, banners, posts), voiceovers and short explainers, a small web app with a coding copilot, and a no/low-code bilingual FAQ chatbot. We use a simple Prompt Card (Role - Audience - Context - Format - Constraints - Language) to help learners get clear and consistent outputs. A browser and basic English are sufficient for learners to become pro from being beginners. Throughout, we emphasise quality, ethics, safety, and cost control, so learners can evaluate outputs for clarity, bias, and factuality while keeping usage economical.By the end of eight weeks, learners will compile a capstone portfolio (README, screenshots, short demo) showcasing their brand kit, explainer reel, small app, and chatbot assets that can be presented to faculty or recruiters. The course blends doing + understanding: learners learn the essentials of LLM behaviour only to the extent needed to apply prompt engineering confidently in academics, projects, and the workplace.
