ABOUT THE COURSE:This course, Non-Traditional Security: Dimensions, Challenges, Approaches, is a timely addition to the broader domain of Security Studies and International Relations that will focus on multi-dimensional orientation of threats emerging for and from human societies. This paper ventures beyond the realist focus on state-versus-state conflict and incorporates a range of contextual, technological, environmental, and ideological manifestations of (in)security. It is a carefully curated mix of theoretical concepts with case studies to deliver a comprehensive understanding of the non-traditional security threats emerging from both anthropogenic and non-anthropogenic sources.
