Lasers are widely used in systems for micromanufacturing, medical applications, nanotechnology, communications, environmental monitoring, and various other applications. Laser-Assisted Measurements and Micro Manufacturing is an interdisciplinary course designed to provide an understanding of lasers and their characteristics, laser-based measurement and diagnostic techniques, and macro, micro and nano-materials processing techniques. At the end of the course, one should be able to understand: 1) different types of laser systems, 2) properties of laser beams and beam delivery systems, 3) different approaches for laser-aided measurement techniques, 4) applications of lasers in macro, micro and nano-materials processing, 5) laser selection criteria for different applications.
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Students from Engineering background, Scientists from R&D Organizations, Industry Professionals, etc.
INDUSTRY SUPPORT: Aerospace, Automobile, Biomedical, Defence, Manufacturing, Semiconductor
