What you will be learning in this Program?

This 1 credit hour micro-credential program aims at exposing learners to the fundamental concepts of Statistics. Here, learners will be introduced to :

i. the definition of statistics and the various terminologies used in statistics,

ii. the purpose of charts in statistics,

iii. the basic statistical formulas

How is the Flow of this Program?

The mode of delivery starts with some reading notes on the topics, followed by a video lecture, a series of self-check exercises, and occasionally a discussion forum. In order to gauge the understanding of the topics, the learners will have to tick the self-check boxes which are relevant to the topics shared at the end of each session.

At any point, if the learners feel that they have not fully grasped the topic, they will be able to use the additional video aid to enhance their understanding of the topic.

What is the uniqueness of this program?

This micro-credential program is designed using a combination of "Student-Centered Approach to Learning" and "High Tech Approach to Learning". The students are the learners who have enrolled themselves in this program.

The learners play an active learning role which is guided through a systematic learning approach throughout this whole program. They begin with a :

1. Lecture (Reading of notes and recorded lecture),

2. Self-Check (Self-check on the topics shared in order to ensure the understanding of

the topic shared)

3. Video Aid (Additional Video for a better understanding of the topic)

4. Self-Check Exercise

5. Discussion Forum.

The high-tech approach includes the usage of video materials, online questions and discussion forums, and as well as communication through mailing services. All these services are embedded into the program for ease of understanding and to encourage communication between the learner and the teacher.


Time Frame for The Completion of This Course

The course will be running for 4 weeks with 3 modules. Therefore, it is recommended to put aside four hours per module.
