Turbulence can be nerve-racking to passengers and even to pilots. Their dynamic nature makes it difficult to accurately forecast their exact location and intensity, thus contributing to turbulence, a leading cause of injuries and terrified passengers. This session will provide recommendations to help avoid flying into turbulence by providing information on what causes turbulence, areas of likely encounters, products to support avoidance, and ongoing FAA research to enhance the quality of turbulence observations and forecasts. Turbulence 101 for pilots in one hour!
