Situational Awareness is the ability to maintain awareness of what is happening both in the task and in your surroundings, in other words keeping the “Big Picture”. This course explores the many facets of Situational Awareness and ways to stay vigilant in the workplace. Students will review Situational Awareness issues such as Attention, Knowledge, and Decision Making, and Situational Awareness errors. Examples of how Situational Awareness is applied in the maintenance workplace will provide the student with specific instances in which Situational Awareness can be used.
