This MOOC is developed by Dr. Ceren Sezer, Group Leader of the Community Collaboration Laboratory, and Prof. Christa Reicher, Head of the Chair of Urban Design and European Urbanism, both from RWTH Aachen University.

M2: Concepts for Future Cities and Regions

Spatial Strategy for the Rhenish Coal-Mining Region, Eco-city concepts, the idea of The Just City.

M3: Mobility

Fundamentals of travel mode characteristics and sustainable mobility strategies.

M4: Energy

Energy transformation, the evolving grid, automation, and power forecasting.

M5: Circularity

Theory and concepts in circularity, tools for implementation, circular buildings, neighborhoods, and cities.

M6: Governance

Governance's role in planning, types of governance for contemporary urban challenges, grassroots initiatives.

M7: Digitalisation

Big data in urban design, digital twin systems, digital twins as planning tools.

M8: Modes of Transition

Business model innovation, sustainable transitions, individual perspectives on sustainable change.
