Understanding the COSO Internal Control Framework

This course provides new and developing internal audit professionals with a foundation in the COSO Internal Control – Integrated Framework, which provides guidance for designing, implementing, and evaluating systems of internal control. Participants will explore the framework’s five integrated components: Control Environment; Risk Assessment; Control Activities; Information and Communication; and Monitoring Activities. They will develop an understanding of the 17 principles that support these components and how the framework can be used to evaluate and strengthen an organization’s system of internal control.
