By the end of this course, taught by Baudilio Perez, you’ll be able to confidently set up and organize projects in Adobe Premiere Pro, build sequences, and apply the core editing principles that shape professional film and video projects. You’ll learn the language of editing—rhythm, ellipsis, timing, and transitions—and practice bringing raw footage to life through deliberate choices that strengthen storytelling. This course is designed for aspiring filmmakers, content creators, and editors who already understand basic video concepts like resolution, frame rates, and file formats. To be successful, you should have Adobe Premiere Pro installed and some familiarity with shooting or editing video, even at a beginner level. What makes this course unique is its balance of theory and practice. You won’t just learn which buttons to press—you’ll study how images, scripts, and edits come together to create cinematic meaning. He holds degrees from the National Experimental University of the Arts in Venezuela, the Superior School of Film and Audiovisuals in Catalonia, and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Baudilio has taken on multiple roles in his projects—director, screenwriter, actor, producer, and composer—allowing him to connect deeply with disciplines like painting, music, acting, and documentary filmmaking. His work focuses on historical cinema and creating immersive soundtracks, always driven by collaboration and the passion to bring meaningful stories to life.

Syllabus

Foundations of Editing & Project Setup

This module introduces the foundations of film editing and the essential tools required to begin working in Adobe Premiere Pro. You’ll explore the core concepts of time, color, and ellipsis in editing, understand which equipment best supports your workflow, and practice setting up your first editing project from scratch. By the end, you’ll be ready to confidently launch your own video project.

Building Sequences & Visual Awareness

In this module, you’ll move from setup to building sequences while mastering key technical and artistic decisions. You’ll learn how to select the right formats and aspect ratios for your project and deepen your awareness of how image balance and lighting choices shape emotional tone. This foundation will prepare you to make more intentional editing decisions.

Effects & Creative Control in Premiere Pro

This module focuses on the creative power of the Effects Control Panel in Adobe Premiere Pro. You’ll explore keyframes, opacity, blend modes, and time remapping, learning to add professional polish and stylistic depth to your projects. By practicing these tools, you’ll gain confidence in shaping rhythm, layering visuals, and enhancing cinematic storytelling.

Mastering the Editing Timeline & Cinematic Time

This final module combines technical mastery of the editing timeline with deeper reflection on cinematic time. You’ll gain practical skills with the timeline toolbars to streamline your workflow, complete a short guided editing project, and then expand your creative perspective by analyzing the role of pacing and shot duration in shaping audience experience. This module ties technical precision and artistic sensitivity into a complete editing practice.
