This course offers a comprehensive, foundational understanding of modern cybersecurity practices, focusing on advanced AI-driven defense mechanisms and the essential principles of identity and access management. You will explore the critical role of artificial intelligence in threat detection and response, gaining insights into how AI enhances organizations' capabilities to identify and mitigate potential security threats in today’s digital landscape. In this course, you will explore the increasing importance of cybersecurity in our interconnected world, highlighting the various strategies organizations employ to safeguard their systems against a wide array of cyber attacks. Key topics include governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), which are vital for establishing frameworks that promote security best practices across organizations. Additionally, you will learn about the concept of Segregation of Duties, ensuring that no single individual has full control over any sensitive process, thus reducing the risk of fraud or error. The curriculum also covers foundational cloud security principles, the principles of zero trust architecture—which emphasizes constant verification of users and devices— and the concept of identity-centric security, which focuses on securing user identities as the new perimeter of organizational defense. By the end of this course, you will have a thorough understanding of the critical elements necessary for building secure and resilient digital environments, equipping you with the knowledge to navigate the complex world of cybersecurity effectively.

Syllabus

  • AI in Cybersecurity
    • This module covers the basics of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its role in cybersecurity, including key concepts like machine learning and natural language processing. You’ll explore AI use cases in threat detection and incident response, along with its benefits and challenges. By the end, you'll understand AI's importance in enhancing cybersecurity efficiency and resilience.
  • Cybersecurity Essentials
    • In this module, you'll learn the essentials of cybersecurity, including its role in protecting devices and data from unauthorized access and attacks. You'll understand the importance of cybersecurity through real-world examples of breaches and explore common threats, such as malware and phishing, along with best practices and technologies to enhance security.
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance
    • This module provides a concise overview of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), a framework that helps organizations operate responsibly and meet regulatory obligations. You will learn the significance of GRC in managing risks and ensuring transparency in today’s digital landscape, while also exploring the roles of its three pillars—Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance—in supporting organizational integrity and decision-making.
  • Cloud Security Essentials
    • In this module, you will explore four key concepts that enhance organizational security and governance: Segregation of Duties (SoD), Cloud Computing, Cloud Security, and the Zero Trust model. You will start with SoD, which prevents fraud and errors by ensuring that no single individual can oversee critical processes without checks. Next, you'll cover the fundamentals of Cloud Computing, including service models like IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and FaaS, along with real-world examples. Building on this, you will review essential Cloud Security measures, such as encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and regulatory compliance. Finally, you'll learn about the Zero Trust principle—“never trust, always verify”—and techniques like continuous authentication and least privilege access to secure cloud environments.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM) Fundamentals
    • This module covers the basics of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and its role in securing digital identities. You'll learn about key IAM concepts, identity lifecycle management, and how Saviynt automates processes to improve efficiency and reduce risks. Additionally, it addresses fundamental security principles and introduces Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) for compliance and access management.
