By the end of this course, you'll be able to record your business's income and expenses with confidence, produce reports that show whether you're truly profitable, and keep your books accurate and tax-ready all year long. You'll set up and organize your chart of accounts, choose the QuickBooks Online plan that fits your business, create invoices, sales receipts, deposits, expenses, and bills, connect your bank for automatic transaction feeds, and reconcile your accounts so nothing slips through the cracks. What makes this course different is its focus. Instead of drowning you in every feature QuickBooks offers, it distills the software down to the handful of tasks that actually matter for a small business, taught by a longtime QuickBooks ProAdvisor who trains business owners for a living. Whether you're doing your own books for the first time or finally want to understand the numbers behind your business, you'll gain practical, do-it-today skills, plus the reassurance that comes from knowing your records are organized, reliable, and working for you. You'll finish ready to run QuickBooks Online as a genuinely useful tool, not an intimidating one.

Syllabus

  • Introducing QuickBooks Online
    • You don't need every menu memorized to feel confident opening QuickBooks Online for the first time. In this module, you'll navigate the core menus and homepage, compare plan options, and pick the version of QuickBooks Online that fits how your business actually works.
  • Optimizing Core Reports
    • Your bank balance only tells part of the story, and the full picture lives in your reports. In this module, you'll customize your balance sheet and profit and loss, compare periods, and set reports to arrive in your inbox automatically so you always know where your business stands.
  • Using the Chart of Accounts
    • Your chart of accounts is the foundation everything else in QuickBooks is built on, so getting it right pays off across every report. In this module, you'll organize your accounts and tailor them to your business so your profit and loss and balance sheet reflect exactly what you want to see.
  • Using Products and Services Lists
    • Knowing what sells and what doesn't starts with tracking your sales at the item level. In this module, you'll set up and manage products and services so you can pull reports that show your best sellers, quantities, and average prices at a glance.
  • Recording Income
    • Getting paid is the goal, and recording that income correctly keeps your books and your cash flow clear. In this module, you'll choose the right recording method for each sale and create invoices, sales receipts, and deposits so you always know who owes you and what you've earned.
  • Recording Expenses
    • Every dollar going out tells you something about how your business runs, so capturing expenses accurately matters. In this module, you'll record expenses and checks by hand and enter bills you'll pay later so you can track what you owe and plan your cash flow with confidence.
  • Working with Bank Feeds
    • Connecting your bank turns hours of manual data entry into a few minutes of review each day. In this module, you'll link your accounts, categorize and match incoming transactions, and reconcile your books so your records stay accurate and ready whenever you need them.
