Together, Chris and Miles answer real sales questions with clear, actionable advice. This course gives beginner and intermediate sales professionals practical tools for handling common sales challenges. You’ll learn how to prepare for sales meetings, re-engage stalled prospects, and move indecisive customers towards a decision. You’ll learn how to respond to discount requests by focusing on value, negotiating thoughtfully, and knowing when to walk away. You’ll also learn how to position yourself honestly against competitors and differentiate your product when alternatives seem similar. The course explores how to build strong customer relationships while still achieving short-term sales goals. You’ll learn about consultative selling, sales ethics, and the role of likeability and rapport in building trust. You’ll also learn the difference between assertive and manipulative selling. Finally, you’ll develop the resilience and professionalism needed to handle difficult sales situations. This includes dealing with aggressive or dishonest customers, managing conversations when you don’t have all the answers, and staying motivated when your pipeline is quiet. You’ll also learn how effective follow-up can support onboarding, retention, referrals, and long-term sales success.

Syllabus

  • Classic Problems During the Sales Process
    • This module addresses the everyday obstacles that regularly interrupt sales momentum, from indecisive buyers and discount requests to unreachable prospects and competitor comparisons. You will practice responding calmly and strategically in situations that often determine whether a deal moves forward or stalls. These scenarios are common across retail, services, SaaS, and B2B selling, so building skill here can improve confidence, protect margin, and help you guide customers toward clearer decisions.
  • Ethics in Sales
    • This module explores the judgment calls that shape your reputation as a salesperson. You will examine how to balance short-term revenue and long-term relationships, how assertive to be without becoming manipulative, and how honesty can strengthen trust rather than weaken your position. In today’s trust-based sales environment, ethical decision-making is not just a moral concern—it is a practical advantage that supports retention, referrals, and sustainable growth.
  • Overcoming Your Fears
    • This module focuses on the situations that often undermine sales confidence: wanting to be liked, facing questions you cannot answer, selling against similar competitors, working through lean spells, and defending a higher price. You will build practical habits for staying credible, resilient, and customer-focused under pressure. These skills matter in competitive markets where confidence comes less from bravado and more from preparation, honesty, and value-based communication.
  • Horrible Customers
    • This module prepares you for challenging customer behavior that can test your professionalism and emotional control. You will explore how to respond to aggression, rudeness, dishonesty, and difficult personal dynamics without escalating the situation or damaging the relationship unnecessarily. Learning to stay composed in these moments can protect deals, preserve your reputation, and help you make better decisions about when to adapt, persist, or step back.
  • Organisation and Planning
    • This module brings together the planning and follow-through habits that support consistent sales performance before, during, and after the sale. You will learn how to handle internal delivery problems without damaging customer trust, prepare thoroughly for calls and meetings, follow up effectively after a deal closes, and reinforce the core habits that make strong salespeople effective over time. These skills help turn reactive selling into disciplined relationship management that supports repeat business and referrals.
