You will also learn to identify the correct application of technical details in professional writing, including rules for capitalization, hyphens, and abbreviations. Patterns of Writing

This course will concentrate on patterns of writing. We will explore the basic structures of various writing genres (and their unique differences), including narrative, compare and contrast, persuasive, and research essay styles. We will also explore and practice the rules of proper capitalization, character styles, and the correct usage of abbreviations and hyphens in professional and academic writing.
