Explore the principles and practicalities of interfacing STM32 microcontrollers with segment and matrix displays, including 7/8 segment modules, MAX7219 multi-digit displays, dot matrix panels, and addressable LEDs. Develop the skills to implement and optimize display drivers for numeric and simple graphical outputs. This course introduces popular embedded display types and guides learners through the development of drivers for 7/8 segment displays, MAX7219-based multi-digit modules, dot matrix displays, and WS2812 addressable LEDs. You will gain a deep understanding of display protocols, initialization sequences, and rendering techniques, enabling you to create responsive and efficient visual indicators for embedded systems. The course combines conceptual overviews with detailed walkthroughs of driver implementation, focusing on the unique requirements and communication patterns of each display type. Learners will compare approaches across display technologies and develop reusable techniques for numeric and matrix-based outputs. This course is part two of a three-course Specialization designed to build a complete and cohesive understanding of the subject. While it offers valuable skills on its own, you'll gain the most benefit by progressing through all three courses as a structured learning journey.
