Syllabus

Introduction
- In this module, we will introduce the course and establish the foundation for your ASP.NET Core Web API learning journey. You will gain an understanding of the course objectives, structure, and expected outcomes while preparing for the practical and theoretical concepts covered throughout the training.
Getting Started with ASP.NET Core and APIs
- In this module, we will explore the essential concepts behind .NET, ASP.NET Core, and web APIs. You will learn how APIs facilitate communication between applications, understand the advantages of ASP.NET Core, and examine practical examples that demonstrate how modern API applications are built and used.
Environment Configuration
- In this module, we will set up the tools and resources required for efficient ASP.NET Core development. You will install and configure IDEs, the .NET SDK, and supporting tools while establishing a GitHub account to support version control and collaboration throughout the course.
Project Setup and Configurations
- In this module, we will build and configure your first ASP.NET Core Web API project. You will create projects using different tools, explore project structures, compare development approaches, and test API functionality while gaining a deeper understanding of how ASP.NET Core applications are organized.
Understanding RESTful APIs and Standards
- In this module, we will examine the standards and principles that drive RESTful API development. Through practical activities, you will implement API endpoints, work with HTTP response codes, test application behavior, and apply best practices that improve API usability, reliability, and maintainability.
Working with GitHub (Source Control Management)
- In this module, we will explore source control management using Git and GitHub. You will learn how to track changes, manage repositories, perform commits, and understand key Git operations that support collaboration, code management, and software delivery in professional development projects.
Database Modelling with Entity Framework Core
- In this module, we will integrate Entity Framework Core into an ASP.NET Core API application to build a robust data access layer. You will create models, configure database contexts, establish connections, perform migrations, and work with database scaffolding techniques that enable efficient management of application data and database structures.
