Microsoft Windows 11 (with Copilot): Apps and the Web

Overview

This course will be useful to anyone new to the Windows 11 operating system. You will learn how to navigate Windows 11 and use Copilot. You'll also use both locally installed and cloud-based Windows 11 apps, as well as the Edge browser and its Copilot integrations. This is the first course in a multi-course Specialization. All of the courses in this Specialization require that you have Windows 11 installed. The course setup instructions provided in the first module of this course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.

Syllabus

Accessing Windows 11

Computers provide you with a helpful and efficient method of communicating, researching information, and performing other tasks. In this course, you will see how you can take advantage of features in the Microsoft® Windows® 11 operating system that can make you even more productive. To take advantage of those features, you need to become familiar with the Windows 11 interface.

Working with Apps

You've signed in to Microsoft® Windows® 11 and have started to become familiar with various elements of the Windows Desktop including Copilot. Now you're ready to work with the locally installed apps to help you communicate with others. AI features have found their way into some of the Windows apps, so you will be introduced to these AI-enhanced apps. As you'll discover, apps are versatile and you can work with more than one at a time. In other words, you can multitask with multiple apps. Finally, if the specific app you need isn't already installed, you can easily add it from the Microsoft Store.

Using Web Resources

You have accessed your local computer to use both built-in apps and apps you installed. There is a whole world beyond your local computer that you can access—the Internet. So much of one's personal and professional life involves the Internet—ranging from searching for information to booking travel reservations to communicating with clients. You can accomplish all these tasks and more with a browser app. In this lesson, you will use Microsoft Edge® to browse the Internet, explore the AI tool called Copilot in Edge, and explore cloud-based apps.
