This course gives you the advanced strategies you need to take your content marketing program from good to great. You'll craft a message architecture that resonates in the marketplace, position customers and employees as heroes in your stories, and use persuasive techniques that move audiences from interest to action. You'll establish thought leadership in topics that matter to your customers, grow your audience through SEO and expanded distribution, and personalize content experiences that create real "wow" moments. You'll also gain practical playbooks for managing a growing content team, building a steady content supply chain, and proving the ROI of your work. What sets this course apart is its focus on the operational and strategic challenges that come with scaling content marketing. Through real-world examples from brands like REI, The Home Depot, Charles Schwab, and Hootsuite, plus role plays, dialogues, and reflection activities, you'll practice the decisions content marketing leaders actually face. By the end, you'll have a complete toolkit for testing, evaluating, and optimizing content that drives measurable impact for your organization and your audience.

Syllabus

  • Building Message Architecture
    • Your content marketing only works when your message lands with the right people. In this module, you'll craft a message architecture that reflects what your customers actually need to hear, then test it quantitatively so you can launch with confidence.
  • Creating Compelling Stories
    • Your content marketing has the power to move people, but only when the stories behind it are built to persuade, not just to entertain. In this module, you'll architect storylines, cast customers and employees as heroes, and apply persuasive techniques so your content moves audiences from interest to action.
  • Creating Effective Thought Leadership
    • Thought leadership turns your brand into a trusted advisor instead of just another voice in the feed. In this module, you'll choose topics where customer interest meets your expertise, answer the "so what" question with clarity, and experiment with formats that keep your audience coming back.
  • Growing and Engaging Your Audience
    • When you rely on search and social algorithms alone, you limit who can find and engage with your content. In this module, you'll grow your email list, build lookalike audiences, sharpen your SEO, and expand distribution so your content reaches further and finds the people most likely to act.
  • Personalizing Content Experiences
    • Your audience notices when content speaks directly to them, and they disengage the moment it doesn't. In this module, you'll combine customer data, content intelligence, and logic to deliver tailored experiences and create "wow" moments that build lasting loyalty.
  • Scaling Content Marketing Operations
    • As your content marketing program grows, the operations behind it have to grow with it or the whole thing stalls. In this module, you'll manage a growing team, repackage existing content for greater impact, and build a supply chain that keeps high-quality content flowing through your pipeline.
  • Assessing Content Marketing
    • You can't make the case for more investment if you can't show the value you're already delivering. In this module, you'll evaluate impact through subscribers, sentiment, sales, and self-service, run optimization tests, and calculate ROI so you can prove what your content is really worth.
