Introduction to Animal Drawing

Begin your animal illustration journey by getting oriented with the course structure and tools you'll need. This module introduces you to observation-based techniques and shape-driven drawing fundamentals, helping you break down animal forms for stylized illustration. You’ll put these ideas into practice by drawing your first animal—a snake—using key tools and methods in Procreate.

Birds and Fish

Build on your skills by drawing animals with dynamic forms and textures. In this module, you’ll explore how to illustrate feathers, fins, and movement while maintaining proportion and expressive color. Through guided exercises, you’ll create two complete illustrations—a bird and a fish—and reflect on how your understanding of animal form and style is growing.

Insects and Small Mammals

This module challenges you to bring detail and personality to smaller creatures like butterflies and mice. You’ll experiment with symmetry, scale, and creative stylization to enhance your drawings, while practicing line work and digital coloring techniques in Procreate. The focus is on combining technical skills with imaginative flair to create compelling, character-rich artwork.
