Agile project management is growing in popularity as a method for delivering value quickly. This course presents the tenets of Agile methodologies using the Scrum framework as a primary example to demonstrate the Agile approaches, their benefits, and challenges. This course is intended for business professionals in a variety of roles who want to learn about Agile methodologies as a prelude to Agile adoption or migration, and for those who work on projects that require more flexibility and adaptability than traditional project management approaches. In this course, you will: identify basic concepts, core values, principles, and methodologies of Agile; address the myths, challenges, and benefits of Agile; define the Scrum methodology of Agile; and execute sprint ceremonies using Scrum tools and techniques.

Syllabus

  • Getting Started with Agile
    • In this course, you will use Scrum as the Agile project management approach to manage projects. Prior to doing this, you will need to start with a basic understanding of the Agile methodology mindset, its values and principles, and common best practices. In this lesson, you will describe Agile project management.
  • Addressing the Myths, Challenges, and Benefits of Agile
    • You may have been involved in projects executed using any one of various project management methodologies and best practices. No method or approach can assure success at all times. It is better to understand the risks and benefits of the project so you can keep risks in check and take advantage of the benefits from the onset.
  • Introducing the Scrum Methodology
    • You know how Agile approaches evolved and the various methodologies. Scrum is a methodology that is the most commonly followed by Agile practitioners and incorporates all the basic principles of Agile. In this lesson, you will use the Scrum methodology to manage projects.
  • Executing Sprint Ceremonies
    • You have moved through the Scrum process and learned the roles and responsibilities. To ensure effective implementation of Scrum, you can use various tools and techniques that enable you to estimate and track your progress. In this lesson, you will manage projects using Scrum and use tools to execute its practices.
  • Completing the Course
    • You'll wrap things up and then validate what you've learned in this course by taking an assessment.
