You will see how building a culture of shared responsibility and transparency is the foundation of every high-performing DevOps teams. You’ll learn how you can use cloud native architecture to build resilience in your products and learn about helpful DevOps tools like horizontal scaling and independently deployable microservices. You will explore how Agile Methodologies like Scrum are crucial to DevOps as well as learn about Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), which enables frequent deployments and working as a team to create high-quality code. This course concludes with case studies about DevOps-based scenarios, which you will analyze and relate to DevOps concepts learnt throughout this course. This course is designed for those new to DevOps as well as those looking to increase their current knowledge of DevOps.

  • Overview of DevOps
    • This module introduces the foundations of DevOps and its role in enabling innovation in modern organizations. You will explore the business case for DevOps, understand its core principles, and examine the cultural transformation it brings to software development and operations. The module also highlights the essential characteristics of DevOps and reviews its evolution as a movement that reshaped how teams build and deliver software.
  • Thinking DevOps
    • This module explores the mindset and practices that support effective DevOps implementation. You will examine concepts such as social coding, working in small batches, and developing minimum viable products to accelerate feedback and delivery. The module also introduces development practices including test-driven development, behavior-driven development, cloud-native microservices, and strategies for designing systems that can recover quickly from failures.
  • Working DevOps
    • This module focuses on how DevOps principles are applied in real development environments. You will explore the importance of collaboration, the challenges created by working in silos, and the behaviors that support effective DevOps teams. The module also introduces technical practices such as Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery that enable faster and more reliable software development and deployment.
  • Organizing for DevOps
    • This module examines how organizations structure teams and workflows to support DevOps practices. You will explore the organizational impact of DevOps, understand common misconceptions about DevOps team structures, and learn why shared responsibility for outcomes is essential. The module also highlights how a collaborative mindset helps teams consistently deliver customer value.
  • Measuring DevOps
    • This module introduces the role of measurement in improving DevOps practices and team performance. You will examine the difference between vanity metrics and actionable metrics and understand how meaningful measurements support continuous improvement. The module also explores how culture, feedback, and incentives influence team behavior and organizational success.
  • Case Studies and Final Exam
    • This module applies DevOps concepts to practical scenarios through case studies and assessments. You will analyze real-world situations involving DevOps culture, collaboration, and development practices. The module concludes with a final assessment designed to evaluate your understanding of DevOps principles and their application.
