How can leaders transform diversity into stronger collaboration, better decisions, and organizational advantage? Developing Inclusive Leadership Practices builds on the foundations of dynamic teaming by exploring the relationship between diversity, inclusion, psychological safety, and organizational learning. Learners examine the Inclusion Dial, learn how inclusive leadership enables teams to benefit from diverse perspectives, and explore strategies for creating cultures where people feel safe, valued, and empowered to contribute. Through insights from leaders at organizations including Netflix and SEB, learners develop practical approaches for strengthening inclusion and improving organizational performance.

Syllabus

  • From Diversity to Inclusion
    • Diversity expands the perspectives available to a team, but it does not guarantee that those perspectives will influence decisions. In this module, you'll examine the relationship between diversity, inclusion, belonging, and psychological safety, and explore why inclusive leadership is essential for helping teams learn from difference. You'll consider how leaders create environments where people feel safe to contribute their ideas, challenge assumptions, and participate fully.
  • Assessing Inclusion
    • Creating an inclusive culture begins with understanding how people experience the workplace. In this module, you'll explore the Inclusion Dial as a framework for assessing inclusion and learn how leaders can evaluate whether team members feel safe, welcomed, celebrated, and championed. You'll also examine why inclusion is dynamic, why metrics alone are insufficient, and how leaders can use observation, inquiry, and feedback to strengthen participation and belonging.
  • The Challenge of Learning from Difference
    • Inclusive leadership requires more than bringing different perspectives together—it requires learning from them. In this module, you'll examine how assumptions, mental shortcuts, and unconscious bias can influence judgment and decision-making. You'll explore why leaders must remain curious, question their own thinking, and create environments where different experiences and perspectives become a source of learning, innovation, and stronger team performance.
  • Inclusion as an Organizational Advantage
    • Lasting inclusion requires more than individual leadership behaviors—it requires organizational commitment. In this module, you'll explore how leaders embed inclusion into culture, strategy, and organizational systems to create long-term competitive advantage. You'll examine real-world examples of organizational change and learn how inclusive leadership strengthens collaboration, innovation, adaptability, and organizational performance over time.
