Overview

In this beginner level course on Generative AI, we take a closer look at popular tools and technologies such as GPT-4, DALL-E, and Stable Diffusion, alongside basic hands-on guidance for their configuration and use. This course aims to deepen understanding of each tool's unique capabilities and ease of usage. Learners will achieve proficiency in employing these tools for various creative tasks and will be able to compare GenAI solutions for solving real-world problems. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to: • Demonstrate basic proficiency in configuring and utilizing various generative AI tools. • Highlight features, capabilities, and use cases of different generative AI technologies, analyzing their effectiveness in specific contexts, using criteria such as ease of use, output quality, and versatility. • Synthesize best practices for integrating generative AI into workflows.

Syllabus

Getting Started with GenAI Tools

Welcome to getting started with GenAI Tools, the second course on the Generative AI Essentials from Concepts to Ethics specialization! In the first module of this course, we will learn how to get started with using generative AI. In particular, they will learn about how various generative AI tools like GPT-4 and DALL-E function. Furthermore, they will learn how to generate their first piece of AI art.

Hands-On Guidance for Using GenAI Text-Based Tools

In the second week of this course, we will learn about generative AI tools for generating text. In particular, they will learn about the history of the GPT architecture, how they do next word prediction, and understand some of the specifications about large language models.

Hands-on for GenAI Image-based tools

In the third module of this course, you will see examples of using AI for generating images. In particular, learners will see tutorials on DALLE to understand how these approaches differ in generating images. They will also learn best tips and practices for generating content with AI.

Best Practices for GenAI

In the final module of this course, we will take a zoom out and take a look at the pipeline of a GenAI project, from the data that will be used for training to setting up the model in the world. We will take a look at different ways to utilize GenAI from the hardware requirements to other methods of using readily available models.
