This course equips project managers, product managers, and team leads to effectively use Google Gemini as a practical co‑pilot across the full project lifecycle. You will start by understanding what Gemini is, how its architecture and capabilities work, and how it compares to other generative AI tools from a project management perspective. You will then learn to navigate the Gemini interface, perform core tasks like drafting content, analyzing documents, and generating task lists, and apply responsible AI principles and decision boundaries for safe, ethical use in professional settings. Building on this foundation, the course dives into prompt engineering for project work. You will deconstruct the anatomy of strong prompts, practice zero-shot, few-shot, chain-of-thought, and iterative prompting techniques, and create a reusable prompt library tailored to your own workflows. You’ll use Gemini to generate project plans and schedules, estimate timelines and risks, map dependencies and critical paths, define SMART goals and KPIs, and organize your personal work. You will also harness Gemini with Google Docs and other tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Slack) for stakeholder analysis, tailored communication, documentation, risk registers, and AI-assisted decision support. Throughout, you’ll apply data privacy and bias-aware practices, and conclude with a capstone that synthesizes AI-assisted planning, communication, risk management, and automation into a coherent, ethical, AI-ready project practice.

Syllabus

  • Module 1. Introduction to Gemini: AI-Powered PM
    • In this introductory module, you'll explore how Google Gemini can transform your day-to-day project management. You'll start with an overview of Gemini’s architecture and capabilities and learn to navigate the interface confidently. Through quick wins like creating structured task lists with AI, you'll see how generative AI can help you plan smarter, communicate clearer, and deliver projects faster. You'll build an initial prompt library for common PM tasks, compare Gemini to other AI tools, and reflect on how generative AI is reshaping project management. The module also introduces principles for responsible AI use and closes with a knowledge check to ensure you can use Gemini safely and effectively as an AI-powered project manager.
  • Module 2. Prompt Engineering for Project Managers
    • Dive deep into prompt engineering to treat Gemini as your powerful project management partner. Learn the anatomy of effective prompts, including role, task, context, and output format. Practice key prompting techniques like zero-shot, few-shot, and chain-of-thought, and see when each is most effective for PM tasks such as status emails, risk registers, and impact analysis. Build and maintain a practical prompt library and reference sheet tailored to your projects. By the end, you'll have the skills to adapt prompts to any project scenario.
  • Module 3. AI-Assisted Project Planning & Scheduling
    • Learn to use Gemini to design robust project plans and realistic schedules. Practice generating full project plans from clear prompts, including phases, tasks, milestones, dependencies, and timelines. Explore AI-assisted techniques for estimating durations and predicting schedule risks, comparing AI estimates with expert judgment. Perform dependency mapping and critical path analysis using AI tools. Define project goals and success criteria that are specific, measurable, and aligned with stakeholders. Use Gemini to organize your personal work week, turning to-do lists into structured schedules.
  • Module 4. Communication, Reporting & Stakeholder Management
    • Elevate your communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement using Gemini. Learn data privacy rules for AI-assisted communication and how to protect sensitive information. Map stakeholder personas and generate tailored updates. Create project documentation and reports from templates or brain dumps. Write polished professional emails with the right tone. Generate concise summaries, notes, and multi-audience updates that adapt style and detail for executives, teams, and clients. Manage project communications faster while maintaining clarity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Module 5. Risk Management & Decision Support with AI
    • Harness Gemini to strengthen risk management and decision support. Learn to generate and maintain structured risk registers, identify and categorize risks with clear causes and impacts. Explore potential bias in AI-assisted risk assessments and how to mitigate it. Apply probability–impact matrices with AI-assisted scoring to prioritize risks. Design mitigation strategies and contingency plans, and use Gemini to structure Go/No-Go decisions and trade-offs. Confirm your understanding with a closing quiz before applying these techniques to your projects.
  • Module 6. Advanced Integration & Capstone Project
    • Integrate Gemini deeply into your project ecosystem and apply your learning in a capstone project. Design simple but powerful workflows that automate repetitive tasks and connect Gemini with tools like Jira, Asana, and Slack via APIs. Clarify ethical boundaries and build an AI-ready team culture. The capstone project challenges you to design and document an end-to-end Gemini-assisted workflow for a real or simulated project, including prompts, integrations, risk and communication plans, and success metrics. Complete a final assessment and course conclusion to consolidate key takeaways and next steps for continued learning.
