By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently control exposure using aperture, shutter speed, and ISO; accurately meter light in a variety of conditions; and apply manual focusing, long exposures, and bracketing techniques to intentionally shape your images. In Film Photography: Exposure, Metering & Key Skills, Sathya Peacock guides you beyond the basics to truly understand how film works—from the moment light hits the emulsion to the final image. Designed as the second course in a three-part series, this class focuses on building technical confidence through clear explanations and practical exercises. You’ll explore the relationship between exposure variables, learn how to meter effectively, and develop hands-on skills that help you move from simply taking photos to deliberately making them. This course is ideal for beginner to intermediate film photographers who want more control over their results. To be successful, you should have a basic familiarity with using a film camera. What makes this course unique is its structured, exercise-driven approach—each section reinforces learning through mini projects, supported by practical worksheets and reference guides you can return to long after the course ends.
