Projects and Project Management in Organizations

This module establishes the foundation of project management, exploring what transforms an idea into reality. It covers the fundamentals of projects, the Iron Triangle of time, cost, and scope, evaluation tools like NPV and ROI, and how projects connect to organizational strategy through governance and portfolio management.

Competencies and Attributes of Effective PMs

Projects are not just technical endeavors. This module explores the human side of project management, examining the responsibilities and challenges of project managers and their differences from functional managers.

Projects Within Organizations

This module examines how organizational structures impact project success, exploring functional, projectized, matrix, composite, and virtual organizations, along with the Project Management Office (PMO) and human factors in project teams.

Planning of Activities and Human Resources

This module covers the transition from project initiation to planning, including traditional project planning, hierarchical planning, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Agile methodologies, and UML tools for project management.

Project Budgeting and Learning Rates

Budgeting is one of the most critical tasks in project management. A project budget is more than just a financial plan — it reflects the resources, risks, and priorities that shape a project’s success. Unlike personal or recurring organizational budgets, project budgets must deal with uncertainty, unique activities, and finite timelines.

Risk Management

This module covers the comprehensive risk management process, including risk identification, analysis (qualitative and quantitative), response planning, and monitoring using practical tools.

Creativity and Innovation

This module explores creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship in project management, covering how to foster creative environments, implement innovation processes, and establish effective team cultures.
