Getting Started with Azure and SQL Databases
- This module introduces learners to the foundational concepts and tools required for administering relational databases in Microsoft Azure. It covers the certification structure, account setup, core database service options, environment provisioning through Azure Portal and Marketplace, network access configuration, and deployment of sample databases. By completing this module, learners will gain practical experience in preparing their environment and understanding the platform offerings relevant to Azure Database Administration.
Planning and Requirements Analysis
- This module equips learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate and design relational database solutions in Microsoft Azure based on workload demands, functional capabilities, performance needs, security considerations, and availability requirements. Through guided demonstrations and practical scenarios, learners will assess service models, plan scaling strategies, and prepare database environments to meet enterprise-grade architectural and compliance standards.
Advanced Capabilities and Migration Strategy
- This module provides learners with hands-on insights into advanced techniques for improving Azure SQL performance and availability using replicas, sharding, and SQL Data Sync. It also introduces the planning, assessment, and execution of database migrations and upgrades from on-premises or cloud environments into Azure. Learners will explore best practices for ensuring high integrity and low downtime during migration, as well as validate compatibility and optimize post-migration success.
