Syllabus

  • Week 1 : Program/Project Communication Networks
    • The first week starts with defining program and project communication networks. We will discuss the Boston Big Dig Project as an example of the challenges inherent in large-scale communication networks.
  • Week 2: Managing Information in a Program or a Project
    • This week describes the types of information in a program or project. How information moves through the program or project communication networks and how to use knowledge management to effectively handle program and project data and information.
  • Week 3: Program/Project Management Information Templates
    • This week you will learn best practices for program and project communication. We will discuss the best ways to report project status, hold effective meetings, and communicate information to stakeholders.
  • Week 4: Troubleshooting Program and Project Communication Network Challenges
    • For the last week, we will discuss ways to troubleshoot common program and project communication networks challenges. What to do when the communication network is growing out of control, when information is becoming lost in the network, or if you are not receiving proper feedback. We end the week with ways to teach your program or project team good information management habits.
  • Week 5: Final Exam
