Learn to turn Asana work data into trustworthy campaign reporting. You’ll build dashboard views for workload, overdue work, completion trends, and field-based monitoring; use Asana Dash to surface priorities and cross-project signals; and verify those signals against current task evidence before drawing conclusions. You will also apply a defined metadata schema, audit missing or inconsistent task information, work with a pre-connected Slack notification pathway, and review rules, permissions, naming conventions, and documentation against governance standards. The course culminates in a reporting and governance package that combines dashboard evidence, metadata quality, governance findings, and a standard operating procedure (SOP) excerpt. By the end, you will be able to monitor campaign risk while keeping reporting inputs and operational controls consistent and defensible.

Syllabus

  • Campaign dashboards: Build monitoring widgets
    • A useful campaign dashboard begins with the questions a marketing team needs to answer, not with the number of available charts. You'll configure work-distribution-by-owner, overdue-work, completion-trend, and field-based charts from supplied campaign evidence, then verify that each chart uses the intended scope, filters, grouping, and date range. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026. Dashboard widget activities require a Starter plan with a paid seat; an alternate path is provided if you don't have one. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Campaign dashboards: Review priorities with Asana Dash
    • AI-generated summaries can direct attention, but they do not replace the campaign evidence needed for a reporting decision. You will review Asana Dash priorities and cross-project observations, trace each material statement to supplied task and dashboard evidence, and separate supported signals from claims that need verification. You will identify the issues that should receive attention before formal metric review. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026. Asana Dash requires an AI-enabled Starter or higher plan and may require administrator enablement. If Dash isn’t available, use the supplied Dash statements and campaign evidence to complete the same review. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Campaign dashboards: Interpret campaign risk signals
    • Campaign risk becomes clearer when workload, overdue work, completion trends, and cross-project signals are interpreted together within a defined reporting cadence. You’ll compare these signals with task-level evidence, distinguish an observed pattern from an unsupported inference, and explain which risk, blocker, or uneven-progress signal warrants further investigation. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026. Direct project-dashboard access requires a Starter plan with a paid seat, and direct Portfolio access requires an Advanced plan with a paid seat. Supplied dashboard and cross-project evidence provides the approved alternate path when direct access is unavailable. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Metadata standards: Classify marketing work
    • Consistent metadata allows marketing work to be filtered, routed, and reported without relying on individual naming habits. You will apply a defined schema for channel, asset type, priority, campaign, and approval status to a supplied task set, including ambiguous cases. You will produce a complete classification record and verify it against the approved standard. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026.
  • Metadata Standards: Audit Data Completeness
    • Metadata can look complete and still weaken reporting, filtering, or routing. In this module, you’ll audit supplied content-request records for presence, validity, consistency, and routing readiness. You’ll classify material findings, judge their operational severity, identify recurring patterns, and decide whether the highest-priority issue should be corrected directly or escalated. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026. The supplied metadata evidence and CSV files provide the complete activity path, so direct Asana access is optional. You can complete the module in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Metadata Standards: Connect Asana and Slack Notifications
    • Workflow notifications are reliable only when the message and the Asana system of record remain aligned. You will design and test an Asana completion rule for a pre-connected Slack workflow, including the trigger, conditions, channel message, and Asana status or custom-field action. You will verify the expected evidence and correct any condition that could create a stale or duplicate notification. This content reflects Asana and Slack as of August 2026.
